Our B2B journey began with Amazon Business

Cutting edge technology in the middle of a World Heritage Site

Matteo Albonetti decided to found Romagna Computer in 2018 after the opportunity arose to join the ever-growing market for IT products. This small, up-and-coming business is based in Ravenna, a breathtakingly beautiful city on Italy's Adriatic coast. The historic architecture served as a direct inspiration when naming the business. Outstanding customer service — both before and after sales — is the main reason why Romagna Computer enjoys a particularly good reputation in this highly competitive sector.

It was Amazon Business that really brought us to the attention of B2B customers.

The business primarily sells computers and desktop monitors and is based 100% online, selling through various platforms. The collaboration with Amazon Business was therefore a pleasant surprise.
The average order quantities on Amazon Business are simply much larger.

Amazon Business has enabled the business to set up its own B2B segment: “It wasn't until we started B2C sales on Amazon that we truly appreciated the value of B2B sales,” says Matteo Albonetti.

As their B2B sales slowly increased, they also began to develop an extremely positive relationship with business customers:
B2B customers return significantly fewer goods and quantities increase with practically every order.

I would heartily recommend Amazon Business tools to all sellers.

One factor that the small business quickly came to appreciate is the special tools that Amazon Business provides for its clients, which make it particularly easy for them to optimize their own offers for B2B customers. Amazon's philosophy is highly customer-oriented; the needs and shopping experience of its B2B and B2C customers always come first. “Customers who shop at Romagna Computer are very spoiled,” says Matteo.

Matteo finds the following tools particularly useful for attracting business customers: Manage Quotes, Business Prices and Quantity Discounts, together with Selection Recommendations.
Selection Recommendations are particularly useful when you are thinking about expanding your catalogue and want to attract the attention of B2B customers. I would heartily recommend this feature to all buyers — it has proven to be extremely useful for our business.

“Thanks to FBA, I was also able to expand my customer base enormously and gain a foothold in other markets — for example in Spain, France and Germany,” notes Matteo. Matteo's own brand developed on Amazon largely “thanks to the following programmes that were on offer: the Transparency Program, Brand Store creation and dedicated sponsored campaigns”. Romagna Computer's Amazon sales are growing steadily and have already reached 70% of its total sales1. As a result, the business was able to achieve a profit last year, in spite of the negative trends in the IT market segment as a whole.
