Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sell within the EU, North America, Asia-Pacific, or the Middle East and North Africa?
How much does it cost to sell globally from Europe?
Costs for selling with Amazon vary by company and product. They can also depend on the tools, programmes and services you select.
Selling plan fees
There are separate Professional selling plan fees for America and Europe regional accounts, and for country-specific accounts for Asia-Pacific and the Middle East and North Africa. However, if you link global Amazon seller accounts, your monthly fee is either the equivalent of USD 39.99 per month or the sum of all individual selling rates for the countries where you have active listings — whichever is lower.
Referral fee percentage
Referral fees vary by product category. For each item sold, you pay a percentage of the total price or a minimum amount — whichever is higher.

How does customs work when I expand globally?
When you expand your Amazon business to stores outside your home country and use Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) or third-party fulfilment providers, you will need to observe import and export obligations. While you can do the necessary steps yourself, it may be easier to hire a logistics provider, such as a customs agent or freight forwarder for this purpose. These providers have the expertise and skills to ensure that your inventory is transported on time and safely. By hiring logistics partners, you ensure that your products are shipped smoothly and in compliance with legal requirements. Find additional information about export declarations here.
You can also use services such as Amazon Global Logistics, which offers door-to-door ocean freight transportation and includes customs support. With the SEND programme "Sell worldwide with Amazon" (FBA), you can send your inventory cost-effectively and easily via an Amazon Transport Partner (APC) in Germany to Amazon fulfilment centres in the USA, after which Amazon takes care of the entire fulfilment process, right up to delivery.

Do I need a new business or a new legal entity to sell with Amazon in a new country?
If you're a business outside your destination store, you may not need to start a new business to sell your products there. However, depending on the specifics of your business and your sales strategy, it may be beneficial to do so.
Will my product reviews be carried over from my home store to global Amazon stores?
Yes, but only initially. If your destination store doesn't have customer reviews for a product, recent reviews from your home store will be shown. These imported reviews remain visible until the product starts receiving local reviews. When you use the Build International Listings tool to list products in global Amazon stores, customer reviews will be transferred to the product detail page but not to the search results page or the best seller ranking.
